DAY 2
Ben Gurion Airport | Tel Aviv
Welcome to Israel! Arrive at Ben Gurion Airport, where you will be met by a IBMT Tours representative and transferred to your hotel. Dinner & overnight in Tel Aviv.
DAY 3
Caesarea | Megiddo | Haifa | Acre
Following a delicious Israeli buffet breakfast, depart Tel Aviv and drive along the coastal plain to Caesarea, capital of Judea under the Romans. Visit the excavations of the ancient city, the Roman theatre and aqueduct. Continue to Megiddo, identified as the site of Armageddon; visit the archeological excavations including the well-preserved water supply system. Drive to Haifa for a panoramic view of the Bahai Gardens and Haifa bay. From Haifa, drive to Acre to visit the ancient city and harbor. Continue to Galilee – Kibbutz Lavi for dinner & overnight.
DAY 4
Tiberias | Capernaum | Banias
After a short tour of Tiberias, enjoy a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee; Visit Yigal Alon museum where the “Jesus boat”, an ancient fishing boat from the 1st century, is displayed. Continue to Capernaum; visit the remains of the 2nd century synagogue. Proceed to Tabgha, the site of the miracle of fish and loaves, and visit the Church of Multiplication with its 4th century mosaic floor. Continue to Mount of Beatitudes, the place where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount. Drive to the Banias springs and waterfalls and tour the Golan Heights. Return to Galilee – Kibbutz Lavi for dinner & overnight
DAY 5
Nazareth | Cana | Beit Shean
Drive to Nazareth via Cana of Galilee. Visit the Church of Annunciation, St. Joseph’s workshop and Mary’s well. Drive to Yardenit, the baptismal site on the Jordan River; continue to Beit Shean, a newly excavated city, and visit the Roman theatre. Drive along the Jordan River to Jerusalem. Dinner & overnight in Jerusalem.
DAY 6
Jerusalem (Old City)
Today we visit the Old City of Jerusalem. Our appreciation of this Golden City begins with drive to Mount of Olives for a panoramic view of the city; visit the Church of All Nations, King David’s tomb and the room of the Last Supper on Mount Zion. Enter within the walls of the Old City and visit the Cardo, Temple Mount (entrance to the mosques not included), Western Wall, walk along the Via Dolorosa where Jesus carried his cross, visit the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, walk through the colorful Arab Bazaar and Visit the Garden Tomb. Dinner & overnight in Jerusalem.
DAY 7
Jerusalem (New City) | Bethlehem*
Today’s program is dedicated to the New City of Jerusalem. Drive to Ein Kerem to visit the Church of Visitation; proceed to Yad Vashem, the memorial to the victims of the holocaust; visit the Israel museum, shrine of the book, where the Dead Sea scrolls are housed and the miniature model of Jerusalem as it was during the second temple period. Proceed to Bethlehem (visit subject to the security conditions) to visit the Church of Nativity. Dinner & overnight in Jerusalem.
DAY 8
Dead Sea / Masada
Driving from Jerusalem through the Arava desert we will stop at Land of Genesis in order take a camel ride and meet our host Abraham who will tell us the story how he arrived to the Holyland and we will be served by his servants the fruits of the Land. Continue to Qumran, where the Dead Sea scrolls were found. Visit the ancient city of Qumran and drive along the shores of the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth to Masada, the last stronghold of the Jews after the destruction of the second temple in 70 A.D. Ascend Masada by cable car and visit the food storeroom, water irrigation system and Herod’s palace. Descend by cable car. Time and weather permitting, an opportunity will be provided to float on the Dead Sea.
Return to Jerusalem for dinner & overnight.
DAY 9
Jerusalem | Day at leisure
Enjoy your breakfast at and enjoy the day on your own by walking around the Old City of Jerusalem for great shopping. Return to Jerusalem for dinner & overnight
DAY 10
Tel Aviv | Ben Gurion Airport | Flight back home
Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel and depending on your flight schedule take a free day sightseeing on your own before transferring to the airport for your departure back home.
